 Conquering Levels

My friends and I play online every day.

We go on adventures come what may.

Worlds to explore throughout the universe.

Creatures and challenges are quite diverse.

We fight monsters, military, foes, and friends.

Mind-blowing planets consume us until we end.

Every time our quests continue unsurpassed.

We face combat with weapons at full blast.

Our teams battle feverishly to win.

We’re frantic when in a tailspin.

We don’t give up; we’re experts, you see.

Helping each other; brave and free.

Success in the fantasy domains.

It gives us confidence; strengthens our brains.

We’ll be leaders wherever we go.

Skills and strength the world to show.

We don’t have time to use a remote.

The television set does not have our vote.

We’ll stick with gaming day after day.

Conquering levels is how we prefer to play.

Grandmother

I bet we watch TV for at least four hours a day.

Using a plethora of remotes is commonplace.

Sometimes it’s frustrating even for the teenagers.

Lucy, our grandmother, comes for dinner once a month.

She sits next to us while we watch our favorite shows.

When we ask for the remote, she’s dumbfounded.

“What the heck am I supposed to do with these things?”

“Grammy, they’re called remotes and they change the channels for us.”

We proceeded to show her how to use the universal remote.

It was entertaining watching Grammy Lucy try to navigate the remote.

“I understand the volume and channel controls now.”

“Good job, Grammy, you’re on your way to be a “techie”.
