I no longer have
To eat sensibly
Can fill up on
Snacks
Drink regular soda
Not diet
Not worry about
Diabetes
Do not need
Eight hours a night
Of sleep
Sit in the sun
All hours
Not concern about
Skin cancer
Drink alcohol
Not worry about
A wet brain
Play in the park
Not alarm about
falling
After all
Remotely speaking
Have nothing to
Care about
I am on borrow time
I outlived my
Life expectance
COUCH POTATO
Sitting there
Pointing remote
towards TV
Never getting up
To change the
Channel
Put on pause
Switch to
Different programs
Without arising
In times of old
Channel changed
Physically
Walling back and
Forth
From TV to
Couch
Exercising
Hands and feet
Now just becoming
A couch potato
NO WHERE TO GO
I want to run away
World a dangerous place
Not talking about wars
With other countries
Living every day in
What I thought was a
Peaceful neighborhood
Quarrels, oral confrontations
Over nothing
Fly by shootings
Parties, restaurants
Schools, guns, bullies
Mental ill with criminal
Minds
Burning, acids, knifing
Innocent people
For no reason
Off I am
To a remote island
No electricity
No hot water
Wild animals
Hurricanes, rainy seasons
Tried an underground
Cavern
Sit quietly, mediate
Avoid the bats
Nothing works
Live life as best
As we can
Do for ourselves
And others
